Hello! We are a homeschooling family of 8, living in Southwest Missouri. We chose a Vizsla because of the breed's friendliness, trainability, energy, speed, and beauty. We wanted a dog that would keep up on long bike rides, and be easy to manage around guests in our home and around strangers at parks or campsites. Lucy was our first Vizsla, and we have been so pleased with her! She bikes, runs, walks, and swims with us. She snuggles in the fabled Velcro-Vizsla fashion. She is intelligent, and though we don't personally hunt, she is both intensely interested in birds and biddable (trainable) in the field. Pax joined us this summer, and his people-oriented, steady, affectionate temperament is a delight! We are excited to offer quality Vizsla puppies here in Springfield.
Please research this breed before deciding on a Vizsla. They are high-energy dogs, and will not do well with just an hour of interaction a day. Bored Vizslas can be destructive. In our home, with human and dog companionship freely available, Lucy and Pax have never been destructive, and have been a low-maintenance, happy fit. However, on very busy weeks we can see their energy building. They thrive on interaction and attention.
